Wiltshire Police have charged a man with drink driving after he was seen driving on the wrong side of the road.
A Swindon officer was driving home on Saturday 20 February, at about 4.30am, when he saw a car driving towards him on the wrong side of Thamesdown Drive, Swindon.
The motorist had hit the central reservation, popped a tyre and bounced over into the opposite carriageway.
When on-duty officers arrived the vehicle was found in Redhouse. The motorist failed a roadside breath test, and was found to be disqualified from driving.
He was arrested, interviewed and charged with drink-driving, driving without a licence and without insurance.
David Whyte, 27, who lives in Swindon town centre, was released on unconditional bail and will appear in court on Wednesday 9 March.
