With Britain coming out of recession and house building seeing resurgence the team at G.A. Plant and Machinery Ltd have decided to take the plunge into the competitive tool hire and sales market, setting up a new shop on Darby Close off Great Western Way.
Gary Cross and Angus Lacy-Hulbert have been friends and colleagues for several years. Gary comes from the trade, having spent the majority of his career working in the world of stone flooring. Angus started life as an agricultural engineer serving an apprenticeship straight out of school before furthering his career with some of the worlds’ largest manufacturers on overseas contracts, eventually returning to the UK he set up a small business which still runs to this day.
Both realise the importance of customer service. Angus, not coming from the trade, knows that feeling of walking into a tool hire shop and feeling out of place and this is one of the main areas that G.A. Plant and Machinery set themselves apart.
Their aim is to make sure that nobody ever feels intimidated walking into their tool hire shop. They are here to help and are always happy to advise and answer questions.
Angus said: “Last Saturday a customer from another town was doing a job in Swindon and needed to hire a tool from us. However he was going to finish later in the day and being a Saturday we were closed. ‘No problem’, we said, and arranged for him to drop the tools off at our home address. The customer was delighted and recommended another customer to us.”
You can find the new plant and machinery hire shop on Darby Close, the road leading up to the household recycling centre.
You can visit their website: www.gaplant.co.uk where you will see prices for both sales and hire.
Again, with the general public in mind, prices are listed with VAT as well as excluding VAT.
Trade customers are also welcome and offer 30 day terms on application.
