Boyzone’s Shane Lynch has been announced as the brand ambassador of Swindon-based international franchise Matt Fiddes Martial Arts.
Lynch will join CEO Matt Fiddes, one of the worlds’ most renowned martial arts and fitness experts, to inspire women across the UK to keep in shape with self-defence classes.
During 2016 Lynch and Fiddes will visit selected Matt Fiddes Academies across the UK to talk about their individual careers and challenges, promote confidence, self-esteem and help improve young people’s fitness and life skills.
He will be coming to Swindon on Monday 22 February and will be visiting Rodbourne Cheney Primary School in the afternoon followed by St Josephs Catholic College in the evening.
Matt Fiddes Academy has a range of training programmes designed for both children and adults with over 600 training schools across the UK, Europe and Australia.
Shane Lynch said: “I went to visit one of Matt’s martial arts schools. They’ve been established since 1997 and I was really impressed by what Matt Fiddes Martial Arts Schools teach and how they educate.
“The classes are very professional but also encourage fun and family values. The children are taught respect, discipline, confidence and it encourages health and fitness in a big way which I think is important, especially these days when people sometimes struggle to keep fit and keep their health in check.
“For ladies I think it is wonderful as you can learn how to defend yourself while keeping in shape.”
