Couples planning to tie the knot can discover on Sunday 7 February all they need to know about having the perfect wedding day during the first-ever Swindon Register Office Wedding Fayre.
The free-to-enter event at the Civic Offices in Euclid Street from 11am to 3pm features tours of the Register Office’s three stunning wedding ceremony rooms; a wedding fashion show and the chance to win a free wedding ceremony in the venue’s Garden Room.
More than 30 local businesses will be promoting the wedding-related services they offer, including florists, bridal shops and cake-makers.
Adults attending will be offered a free glass of bubbly, and a discounted deposit price of £25 from £40 is on offer for those who book a wedding ceremony date with the venue on the day.
Expert staff will be on hand to discuss specifics for couples’ wedding days, including anything to do with wedding law.
The three ceremony rooms that visitors can tour are:
* The Garden Room, which overlooks the Civic Rose Garden, can accommodate up to 85 people
* The Juno Room, which also overlooks the Civic Rose Garden, accommodates up to 20 people
* The Registrar’s Office, which can accommodate the happy couple and up to four guests
Mamie Beasant, Swindon Borough Council’s Superintendent Registrar, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming people to our first-ever Wedding Fayre and showing couples the three wonderful ceremony rooms that we have at the Register Office which they could use to get married in.
“People can also speak to a host of local businesses who will be at the fayre giving information about the wedding services they offer. My expert staff will also be available to answer any questions about weddings that people may have.
“We know just how important wedding days are for everybody and one of the aims of the fayre is to show off the fantastic facilities that we offer as well as giving our expert advice to couples.”
