Members of Nuffield Health Gym at Greenbridge took part in a three hour Spinathon on Saturday 20 February.
So far over £300 has been collected for Help for Heroes with more to come as sponsorship commitments are collected.
Cyclist Hannah Golding said: “Fifteen people started the sponsored spin and we finished with 8. We had our regular instructors Nick and Gemma teach the first hour, then myself took on the second and Nadia took the group for the third.
“Nuffield has a great relationship with their members; it’s more of a friendship group when it comes to spinning classes, everyone was enthusiastic and supportive of each other and Help for Heroes is a great cause to fundraise for.
“This won’t be the last one and we want to do more to help local charities with fitness related challenges.
The event was organised by Alex Walker and one of the spinathonists was Steve Carr who had stopped over in his home town for a couple of nights whilst on an epic one-man walk from Lands End to John O’Groats. Click to read about his journey.
