Phil Harding of Channel 4’s Time Team will be joining Wiltshire Sight and Living Paintings for the relaunch of the Touch to See Book Club.
The event will be taking place on Thursday 17 March 2016 between 10:30am and 12:30pm at St Lucy’s Sight Centre, Browfort, Bath Road, Devizes.
Touch to See Book Club brings together those living with sight loss within your local community for a social event where you can make friends, share experiences and have a laugh. The titles that Living Paintings offer have been specially designed for a group of visually impaired people to enjoy together. The club is run by a trained volunteer, who will lead the session and subsequent discussion.
‘Touch to See’ books have raised pictures that come to life when fingers feel them. These tactile books include soundtracks which tell the pictures’ stories while directing the fingertips across the raised images. They describe what is being touched, felt and ‘seen’ and are often narrated by well-known people.
Phil Harding will be joining the session to discuss fossils and watch the benefits this club can bring.
