Thamesdown Transport Services 13 and 14 will be temporarily diverted from their usual route through Moredon from this Sunday, 3 April for a week due to the daytime closure of Moredon Road for resurfacing.
These services run between Haydon Wick, the town centre, Liden and Eldene, and vice versa. The closure means that buses will divert between The Street and Vicarage Road via Purton Road and Akers Way.
The bus diversions will be in place between 9.45am and 4.15pm on Sunday 3 April and between 7.45am and 6.15pm from Monday 4 April until Friday 8 April inclusive, when the works are scheduled to finish.
The bus stops on Moredon Road at Boundary House, Pembroke Gardens, Bourne Road and The Broadway, and the stops on Cheney Manor Road at The Broadway and St. Mary’s Church will not be served.
Passengers who normally use these stops are advised to use the nearest available stops at Barton Road, Purton Road and Akers Way instead, or use Service 11 to or from Larchmore Close.
Outside of the daytime closure times, Services 13 and 14 will serve Moredon Road as normal.
Paul Jenkins, Managing Director of Thamesdown Transport, said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond our control. The bus stops affected by this temporary closure will have details of the nearest available stops and we aim to keep our passengers’ journeys affected as little as possible during this week.”
