Great Western Railway are reporting on social media that the severe rain seen today has caused flooding at the Royal Wootton Bassett junction connecting the two mainlines between Swindon and Bristol.
The flooding is causing delays for all travel to the area, and the area west of Swindon has become impassable for trains.
The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for rain in Wiltshire over the next 36 hours, and GWR are advising that their tickets can be used on the Stagecoach 55 bus service between Swindon and Chippenham to avoid the flooding.
GWR are attempting to divert their services north via Gloucester and south via Pewsey, with their tickets being accepted by alternative providers.
