On Tuesday 5 July, 6pm, Swindon Council’s Community Governance Review which proposes to parish the whole of the town will be discussed at the West Library, Link Centre.
There will be short presentations, and a question and answer session. The West Swindon meeting is one of a series taking place across the town. Click to see the other dates
A council spokesman said: “In mid June, the council’s Cabinet agreed to give local people more power over local services by considering the potential of creating parish councils covering the entire borough. The plans to expand local democracy will ensure that community governance is effective and convenient and reflective of the identities and interests of the local communities in the borough. It will also provide residents with more direct control over services such as street cleaning, litter and dog waste bin emptying and grass cutting.”
