North Swindon MP and Leave campaigner Justin Tomlinson MP has expressed his pride in serving with Prime Minister David Cameron and reacts to the UK’s decision to leave the European Union on Thursday 23 June.
Mr Tomlinson MP said: “A truly historic vote. The public have seized the opportunity and we the establishment must listen.
“I was proud to serve as a Minister in David Cameron’s Government and I am very sorry to see him announce his resignation. He secured an outright Conservative Government that is delivering social reform, record employment and an economy that has the fastest global growth of any other major economy in the world.
“As a country we must come together across party lines to deliver a period of stability and calm. The British public have spoken and democracy has been exercised. We must now accept that decision and look towards a prosperous future.
“Our relationship with our European neighbours doesn’t cease today. We remain close allies as an internationalist and outward looking country. However we are now free to embrace the opportunities of the growing global economy and control our own destiny.”
