Justin Tomlinson MP is hosting a referendum event from 10am to 12noon on Saturday 18 June where supporters of the Remain and the Leave campaigns will be on hand to put their respective cases before referendum day on Thursday 23 June.
Justin, who has now declared that he supports the campaign for Britain to leave the European Union, said: “I am delighted that the government has delivered on its manifesto commitment to ensure that this crucial decision is made by you, the British public and not just politicians.
“In recent weeks, I have been inundated with correspondence from residents in my constituency who quite rightly want to know a number of facts before they make their decision. This has mainly included queries about accessing enough information from both sides of the debate.
“As the MP for North Swindon I want to make sure that residents are provided with every opportunity to ask questions and learn as much as possible which is why I am hosting an EU Referendum drop-in event at my new office.
“I have invited both sides of the campaign – Vote Leave and Britain Stronger In – to each have a stand where they will be able to provide literature and put forward their case. They will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have. North Swindon residents will be able to drop by for as little or as long as they wish to pick up leaflets, raise issues or have a general chat. I will obviously be there as well to speak to residents, as well as make the cups of tea.”
The event takes place at Justin’s new office at: First Floor, Customer Service Hub, Orbital Shopping Park, Thamesdown Drive, Swindon SN25 4AN – the new building adjacent to Connells Estate Agents.
If you are a North Swindon constituent and would like to attend, contact the office on 01793 533393 or Justin.email@example.com so that enough tea and biscuits will be available.
