Review by proud parent Trish Daniels.
Peter Pan was performed by the Estelle School of Dance and members of the Immanuel Dramatic Society at the Wyvern Theatre from 23 to 25 June.
Well, Peter Pan was amazing.
The darling Mrs Darling was played by Pat Bennett, the principal, and the very funny Mr Darling was played by Norman Goodall. That’s not to forget the loveable Nana played by Emmie Raine and a magical Michael played with such confidence and so naturally by Katie Loveridge.
Megan Burchell was cast beautifully as the most wonderful sweet-natured Wendy and Tinkerbell was portrayed quite brilliantly by Alex Bamford, who made the part her own with beautiful dancing.
The Lost Boys were cheeky and mischievous, each had their individual character. Stuart Benjamin as Captain Hook was awesome and Bernadette Barrett played Tigerlilly with such innocence.
The rest cast were fantastic, as were all the dancers, especially The Star and Dawn ballet. The little Tinkerbells were enchanting and really stole the show.
But of course we have to mention Abigail Daniels whose superb portrayal of Peter Pan was stunning. She performed with such confidence and poise and was polished and professional. She owned the stage with her acting, dancing and singing and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the audience or cast for the last song ‘Don’t say goodbye’.
Well done to all the cast and dancers of this wonderful production, not forgetting the fantastic band and musical director Jen Bamford who brought the show to life. You are all amazing and it was all in aid of a great cause, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
You all should be very proud, you all did something very, very special.
Follow your dreams and don’t stop believing!
