From September a new edition of Swindon Link will be delivered door to door to 15,000 homes in South and East Swindon.
The South and East Swindon Link will be monthly and published at the same time as the current North and West Swindon Link, which currently goes door to door to 25,000 homes.
This means a total of 40,000 Links will be landing on people’s doormats every month – making The Link Swindon’s largest printed publication.
By industry standards of 2.5 readers per copy, that will take the magazines’ monthly readership up to 100,000.
As well as unique community news for South and East Swindon, the new edition will include all the things that have put Link at the heart of its target neighbourhoods for the past 38 years, keeping people informed about their local area.
Owner James Phipps said: “Swindon Link has always been about the community and the new edition will fulfil the need to let people know what is happening.
“For years, we have been asked by community groups, residents and businesses to bring The Link to the rest of Swindon. It is with great pleasure that we will finally be able to do so.”
Swindon Link, which is part of Positive Media Group along with its sister publication lifestyle and entertainment guide The Ocelot, was established in 1978 by Roger Ogle who still works as an associate editor on the magazine.
The new edition will be delivered to Old Town, Wichelstowe, Lawn, Coate, Liden, Eldene, Covingham, Nythe and South Stratton amongst other areas.
Group editor Jamie Hill said: “We are starting with 15,000 homes but we are confident that we will be able to increase this number within a short time .
“We are busy now talking to groups, businesses and people in South and East Swindon; the reaction so far has been very encouraging.”
