There is a great opportunity for anybody who hasn’t visited Abbey Stadium recently – and for those who have yet to discover the excitement of speedway – on Independence Day, Monday 4 July, when top team Coventry Bees visit Swindon Robins for a televised showdown, starting at 7.30pm.
Robin’s newly appointed commercial manager Stella Walton said: “The clash with Coventry has been moved to 4 July for Sky and we’re making the night a big one by discounting tickets to £10, with under 11s entry free.
“If you like action packed and exciting, speedway is for you. What’s not to love about watching bikes without brakes, accelerating faster than an F1 car, screaming down the straights and sliding the corner with shale flying around?
“Why not make it on 4 July and see Robins take on Coventry Bees newly crowned British champion Danny King and former champion and GP star Chris ‘Bomber’ Harris?
Team manager Alun Rossiter added: “We want to see the Abbey packed for this crucial meeting. It always looks better on TV when there’s a big crowd; knowing our fans are behind us gives a great boost to our performance.”
