MAN Truck & Bus UK and MAN Financial Services joined forces to host a successful day of football fun for teams competing from the nationwide dealer network.
The squads, who travelled from far and wide, competed to raise the coveted winners’ trophy. It is the second year that the tournament has been held and this year the glory went to Pelican Engineering, from Wakefield , and their team FC Racing Pelicano.
Twelve teams took part in the tournament, including squads from MTB Swindon, MTC Northwest, W G Davies, in Cardiff, SMV Commercials, from Yeovil, R&A Scott Auto Services, from Gainsborough, MTB Nuneaton and MAN Financial Services.
The teams played 20-minute games during the tournament, which was held at the PlayFootball Arena, in Kembry Park, Swindon.
Trophies were presented to the winning team, as well as medals for the runners-up and a prize for the best team name.
MAN Financial Services’ team, The Dirty Half Dozen, were the runners-up after a hotly-contested final, with FC Racing Pelicano. W G Davies won the best team name title with The Fairy’s Boots.
Rebecca Truman, of MAN Financial Services, said they were delighted with the turnout.
“It was a day full of good, competitive, sporting fun, all whilst promoting great teambuilding within the MAN dealer network.
“The MAN dealers are part of the MAN family, it was great to see everyone working together on the pitch as well as we know they do day to day.”
The winning team, FC Racing Pelicano, included Lee Reynolds, Dave Stevenson, Rik Ward, John Spink, Rich Poole and Liam Taylor.
