Council tenants are being invited to an event aimed at improving Council Housing services.
Swindon Borough Council’s Tenant Participation team have organised Tuesday’s (19 July) event at STEAM so tenants can find out more about the Council’s various tenant projects and schemes as well as other tenant groups.
It follows a survey carried out by the Housing Sounding Board, which found that many respondents would do more to improve housing services if they had the chance to meet other tenants and knowledge about the types of projects available.
All of the Housing team’s tenant projects, schemes and groups will be at the drop-in event, which is being held between 1.30pm and 6.30pm and also entitles tenants to free entry to STEAM on the day.
Attendees will be able to meet tenants who are helping to improve services for the Council’s 13,000 tenants and hear about the opportunities open to them through the Tenant Academy, RE:FRESH and other projects.
Housing Officers, Neighbourhood Wardens and the Council’s repairs team will be on hand to answer any tenancy queries. There is also the chance to be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad by completing a survey about tenants’ online account My Housing Tenancy.
The Housing team are on the look-out for two new apprentices, so are encouraging anyone who might be interested to pop along to find out more.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Citizens Advice Bureau will be on hand to offer advice to tenants.
Children are welcome and also able to visit the museum for free with an accompanying adult. Refreshments will also be available.
