Local professional boxer Kelly Morgan is urgently looking for support for her warm up fight on Friday 16 September.
The WBC Female Middleweight Silver Champion is looking for support from sponsors and public ticket sales in the hopes that the fight will be able to go ahead at Action Indoor Sports in Bristol. With Kelly’s hopes to become a two weight world champion, this scheduled fight is made all the more important for her training. Without this event, Kelly will have had a gap of six months without a major fight, which is desperately unwanted before potentially fighting Nikki Adler for the WBC Super Middleweight World Title.
With a Commonwealth bronze in javelin and time spent on the netball court representing England, Kelly is no newcomer to the demands of world class sport. She turned her attentions to boxing, reaching professional status in 2015 with a string of wins including a 94 second knockout against her first opponent Klaudia Vigh.
Sponsorship representative Sam Cullis said: “Life as a female professional boxer is challenging but Kelly is determined, committed and focussed on making sporting history, and simultaneously pushing the boundaries of women’s sport. Kelly is urgently looking for sponsors willing to invest in an elite local athlete, to hopefully provide Swindon with a world champion.”
Women’s professional sports thrive with the backing of sponsorship and public support. Of the progress made in women’s boxing, Kelly said: “You can see the change happening. The talent and passion is in abundance, people need to see it to believe it.”
Confirmation of the fight is due on the 17 August, and tickets will be released on Friday 19. For more information about Kelly and to buy tickets go to www.kellymorganboxing.co.uk.
Sponsorship can be anything from £249 upwards. For sponsor queries and comprehensive details of sponsorship packages contact Sam Cullis via email@example.com
