A new non-profit day nursery is set to open in early Autumn in Kembrey Park, run by the West Swindon Family Centre.
Panda Day Nursery is a new facility that will provide high quality childcare from Monday to Friday for 51 weeks of the year. The nursery offers full and part time care for children aged two to five years, in morning, afternoon, school time and full day sessions.
The nursery will be the second setting to be managed by West Swindon Family Centre, as the charity already runs a successful pre-school in Freshbrook. Panda Pre-school was OFSTED rated ‘Good’ at its last inspection in 2015, and both settings will operate under the new ‘Panda Childcare’ banner.
It is the intention of West Swindon Family Centre to use the income generated from the day nursery to self-fund charitable services for vulnerable children and families living in Swindon. With the recent closure of the last seven Children’s Centres and Swindon Borough Council funding in short supply, the charity is excited about the opportunity to maintain its much-needed work in financially challenging times.
Business Development Coordinator for West Swindon Family Centre Mike Smith said of the new venture: “We are delighted to announce the arrival of our new Panda Day Nursery and are incredibly excited about how it will enable us to self-fund our vital work with the most vulnerable children living in Swindon.”
Janet Donnelly, Area Manager for both the pre-school and nursery, said: “For professionals working in Kembrey Park, families living nearby and parents commuting into Swindon, we think Panda Day Nursery will offer them a convenient and practical childcare solution.”
The day nursery will be open to fee paying families with spaces limited to 28 children on a first-come first-served basis. Panda Day Nursery is currently taking enquiries, and urges interested parents to fill out an enquiry form on the website or email them to put their child on the waiting list: email@example.com
