Two members of the Wiltshire Law Centre will take part in the Oxford Legal Walk, a 10km sponsored walk that aims to raise money for local advice services.
Wiltshire Law Centre is currently working to raise funds so they can continue to provide free legal advice and support to some of the most vulnerable in Swindon and Wiltshire.
Trainee solicitor, Heather Reilly, who is taking part in the walk said “We are dedicated to social justice, preventing homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly and disabled and fighting exploitation. However, due to legal aid cuts, we are short of the funds needed to continue this vital work in the community.”
The registered charity offers free confidential advice regarding welfare benefits, employment, housing and debt and they currently have 5 advisors who, between them, have over 50 years’ experience.
The Oxford Legal Walk is taking place on Monday 17 October 2016 and they are currently accepting sponsors through their fundraising page.
