Students from the Swindon Academy of Dance have successfully reached the final round of the Dance World Cup to be held in Germany next year.
Thirty nine students ranging from 6 to 18 years old were selected to represent Team England in the competition that attracts over 12,000 competitors from around the world. Academy students competed at the 2016 finals in Jersey, achieving first place in a number of dance categories and bringing home a haul of bronze, silver and gold medals. Their success has guaranteed England’s place at next year’s competition; it’s the fourth year in succession that England has won the title.
Academy Principal Sarah Watson: “I’m bursting with pride of each and every one of the students. All their hard work and extremely high commitment really paid off.
“I’m also very grateful for the continued support of all the parents and grandparents. The new school year is going to be very exciting as we prepare for DWC 2017.”
