Raymond Holden will be talking about his new ebook ‘Nobody Cares, Forgotten Parts of British Cities’ at Swindon Central Library on Wednesday 21 September, 7.15pm.
He has traced the growth of the forgotten areas and neighbourhoods, attempting to understand why such places continue to decline in spite of a mass of urban regeneration and development initiatives over the years. He goes on to discuss what can be done to revive such areas or provide alternative paths to human, social and economic prosperity as well as tracing the role that uneven capitalist development plays in shaping our cities and producing the urban malaise that we see in forgotten areas today.
Tickets: £2.50 (£1.50 library members) available now from the Ground Floor Help Desk at Central Library (Tel: 01793 463238) as well as all other Swindon Libraries. For further information email firstname.lastname@example.org
