A car wash is being held at Swindon's Westlea fire station on Saturday 23 March in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity.

The event will run from 9am to 1pm at the fire station off The Chesters, Stonehill Green.

Firefighters will wash cars – and any other vehicles – for a minimum donation of £5, with both cash and card payment available.

Station Manager Dave Slawinski said: “The Fire Fighters Charity provides essential help to everyone who works for the fire and rescue service, including often career-saving rehabilitation and mental health support.

"It relies on fundraising to survive, so firefighters across Dorset and Wiltshire run events every year, such as car washes and open days.”

The best access is via the housing estate side to avoid traffic build-up on the busy main road. The site will be exited via Mead Way.
