AN EAGLE-EYED member of the public helped prevent an attempted burglary in North Swindon last night.

The witness contacted police shortly before 8pm after spotting suspicious activity near the house of a neighbour in Abbey Meads.

Two local Police Community Support Officers were deployed to apprehend three youths, who were later arrested by the priority crime team when they found evidence that the house's conservatory had been broken into.

A fourth boy was arrested later in the evening in connection with the crime. All four are aged between 13 and 15 and come from the Gorse Hill and Penhill areas.

If you witness any suspicious activity call 101, or 999 in an emergency.
