More than 40 talented crafters from across Swindon came together at The Brunel shopping centre for its first ever Makers’ Market.

It was one of the town’s biggest ever craft fairs.

A wealth of talent showcased myriad products and skills, from hair braiding to home scents, crochet to decoupage and papercrafts to floral displays.

Stallholders hailed the inaugural event a great success, with comments including "...atmosphere was buzzing," "The event was fabulous" and "This is just what Swindon town centre needs."

Charlotte Jarrett, Asset Manager at FI Real Estate Management, which runs the centre, said: “The feedback from shoppers and stallholders alike has been fantastic - we were so pleased with the response, and footfall for that area of the centre was up by almost 100 percent.

“It’s great to be able to host such events at The Brunel Swindon and showcase such talent and skill. We’re already taking stall bookings for the next one.”

The Makers’ Market will be held on the second Saturday of every month in the Brunel Plaza, and the next fair will be on Saturday 11 May, from 9am to 3pm.
