Brian Kendrick, a former WWE Cruiserweight, WWE Tag Team Champion, and (interim) WWE Champion will take on Japanese superstar Kota Minoura at the 400+ capacity Deanery Theatre in Wichelstowe on Saturday, 11 May. Photos by Emma Meek
The match will headline Kingdom Rising 2024, a supershow promoted by British Kingdom Pro Wrestling(formerly 4FW), which is headquartered in Swindon.
Kota Minoura is part of the professional wrestling group ‘Gold Class’ in prestigious Japanese promotion Dragon Gate, where he has held tag team championship gold. He is known to exchange ‘gold’ roses with audience members.
The match has been made possible by a partnership between British Kingdom Pro Wrestling and Dragon Gate, which is seeing an exchange of stars.
In a huge match to determine the number one contender for the British Kingdom Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship, Swindon’s own ‘Silverback’ Saime Sahin will take on Tiger Ali.
Kingdom Rising 2024 will also see the return of ‘The English Lion’ Eddie Ryan who lived and trained to become a professional wrestler in Swindon before going on to compete across the world. Ryan, who is known by many for his reign as 5 Star Real Wrestling Champion, and his time in WWE NXT UK, will face off against the truly bizarre ‘Spectacular Trickster’ Charles Crowley.
Angelo Mochizuki Jr (also of Dragon Gate) will defend The British Kingdom Pro Wrestling Junior Heavyweight Championship in a six-way elimination match. His challengers will be: Chris Ridgeway, ‘The Ice King’ Jakk Sellström, highflying Nico Angelo, Lee Hunter and Mega Pegasus.
