A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with drink-driving after he abandoned his car in North Swindon following an accident.
On Friday night the vehicle hit a kerb and ran over grass verges in Voyager Drive, Oakhurst, with such force that the airbags deployed.
The suspect left the car in the road and returned home, where he was later arrested.
Following breath tests and questioning at Gablecross Police Station the motorist, who lives locally, was charged with driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report the collision.
He will appear in court on 11 February.
