Swindon North Green Party Parliamentary Candidate Andy Bentley has added his voice to calls for a ceasefire in Gaza.

He has also called for the unconditional release of all remaining hostages.
In a statement released ahead of a Swindon Palestine Solidarity March at the weekend, Mr Bentley said: “The Green Party will always stand up for what is right.
"Early in the current conflict, we condemned Hamas’s attacks and its seizure of hostages, and called for an immediate ceasefire to stop the loss of civilian lives.
“Although thousands more innocent men, women, and children have been killed since then, the UK Government and official opposition remain inexplicably opposed to a ceasefire.”
“The United Nations voted overwhelming this week to demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and for all parties to comply with their obligations under international law to protect civilians. It is shameful that the UK abstained.”
Last week, the Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer visited Bristol resident Wael Arafat in the hospital where he is on hunger strike after
his sister and her four children were killed by an Israeli air strike.
According to Mr Bentley, the Conservative Government and Labour Opposition are not just ignoring Wael. They are also ignoring the vast majority of the British public, who want to see a ceasefire in Israel-Palestine. [4]
Mr Bentley said: “Like me, most people recognise that bombing innocent men, women and children will not solve anything in the long run. The world needs to come together urgently to work on a long-term solution for peace.
"History tells us that it will not be an easy task, but our politicians must stand up for what is right. The UK must put its full diplomatic and economic weight behind efforts to establish a viable two-state solution.
“The ceasefire that supporters of Swindon’s ‘March for Palestine’ are calling for is just the first step, but a vital one. The killing must
stop, and the hostages must be freed.”
