The 'Big Conversation' and 'Pint and Politics' gatherings follow on from her successful Big Conversation in October of last year about the future of the town centre and a further Big Conversation event at St Paul’s Church in Covingham in December.

The first - the East Wichel Big Conversation at the StoweAway Centre was on Saturday, 3 February.

The schedule for the rest of February is:

- Tuesday 6 February - Pint and Politics upstairs at The Hop, Devizes Road, 7.30-9pm

- Saturday 10 February - Badbury Park Big Conversation, Badbury Park Community Hub, Homington Avenue - 10.30-11.30am

- Tuesday 13 February - Pint and Politics, The Nine Elms Pub, Old Shaw Line, 7-8.30pm

- Tuesday 20 February - Pint and Politics, Shaw Village Inn, Ramleaze Drive, 7-8.30pm

- Saturday 24 February - Central Swindon Big Convesation - Bakers Cafe, Emlyn Square, 10.30-11.30am

Details of her March programme will be released in due course.

These will be informal events, open to everyone who lives in the constituency. Attendees will be able to hear from Heidi, meet local borough and parish councillors and ask any questions they may have.

Heidi said: “Since moving back home to Swindon a few years ago, I have knocked on thousands of doors, but I am very conscious that we don’t always get everyone in and I would like to give everyone an opportunity to meet with me before the next general election.

“When I was an MP in South East London, I made sure that I was I was available all year round. If I am privileged enough to be elected to serve the town where I was born and grew up, I would work on the town’s behalf 52 weeks a year.

"I would be a full-time MP - no second jobs outside of Parliament. And I would make it my mission to address the issues of top concern to local people - the cost of living, the state of the town centre, the need for better paid local jobs, the NHS, crime and affordable housing.

"As a candidate, I really want to hear what people’s priorities are. Everyone is welcome to attend these events.

"I can offer tea and biscuits on Saturday mornings but if you want a beer at one of my Tuesday evening “pint and politics” sessions, I will have to ask you to stump up - soft drinks will be free though!”
