A man who led police on a high speed chase on the M4 has been jailed.

Muneeb Mehran, 23, of Whurley Way, Maidenhead, was sentenced to 26 months' imprisonment after pleading guilty to dangerous driving, failing to stop, possession of cannabis and having no insurance and no licence.
Shortly before midnight on 19 January, officers spotted a Volkswagen Passat being driven at speeds of around 130mph on the M4 eastbound near junction 15.
Officers switched on their lights to indicate for Mehran to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle stopped on the hard shoulder and officers approached the vehicle to ask the driver to turn off the engine, only for him to drive off at speed, and a pursuit was authorised.
Mehran reached speeds in excess of 140mph through temporary roadworks where the speed limit reduced to 40mph, and undertaking vehicles at high speed.
The pursuit continued into the Thames Valley area before officers were able to safely stop the vehicle using specialist tactics, alongside officers from Thames Valley.
Mehran was the only person inside the vehicle – he had a revoked licence and no insurance.
He was remanded to court following his arrest, and then remanded in custody until sentencing which took place on March 22.
PC Ben Greening from the Roads Policing Unit said: “The speeds at which Mehran was driving were totally unacceptable and showed a total disregard for other road users.
"It is extremely fortunate that nobody was injured or worse, killed, as a result of his reckless behaviour.”
As well as the prison sentence, he was given an 18 month driving ban.
