Swift arrest after vehicle stolen in Swindon

Swindon Police made an arrest within about half an hour of a stolen vehicle report.

At around 1.30pm yesterday - Wednesday 8 May - officers received a report of the theft of a Volvo estate from a business in The Broadway, Whitworth Road.
A force spokesperson said: "Following swift proactive enquiries, the vehicle was located around half an hour later and the suspect, a man in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
"He was further arrested on suspicion of driving without insurance and while disqualified, and further arrested again after failing a breath test.
"He has been taken to custody for questioning."
