Festival fever is coming to Swindon this summer as a new two-day musical extravaganza launches for the first time.
Swindon Summer Music Festival is a new online music festival that will showcase the very best local talent.
The organisers will also be raising money for two important charities: The British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK, with all proceeds from the event being evenly split between the two.
The two-day festival will take place on the weekend of 4th and 5th July 2020 and, because of the continuing need for people to follow the Government’s social distancing guidelines, will be held on Swindon Summer Music Festival’s Facebook page.
The acts, all of whom will be local bands and artists, will be streamed live from midday on Saturday 4th July and music lovers from across the south west are encouraged to tune in and sing along.
A spokesman from Swindon Summer Music Festival said: “We are delighted to announce the first Swindon Summer Music Festival which will be streamed live on our Facebook page this July.
“The coronavirus pandemic has been an extremely difficult period for many of us and we want to put the smiles back on peoples’ faces with a bit of festival fun. Britain is famous for its summer music festivals and we see no reason why Swindon can’t have its own mini festival this year while respecting the social distancing rules.
“There are so many talented acts in Swindon and Wiltshire and we want to make sure they get their voices heard during this difficult period. We also want to make sure that the charities we have selected get the support they need to continue the wonderful work they do.”
The acts will be announced in due course and people should check Swindon Summer Music Festival’s Facebook page for regular updates.
If any acts would like to enquire about performing, they should message the festival’s Facebook page with information about their act.
