The Dorcan Academy is revelling in the school's progress after receiving positive feedback in a recent Ofsted report.

This summer there was another significant improvement in examination results and The Academy has been recognised by Ofsted to be “securing improved outcomes” for students.

A spokesperson for the school said: "The Open Evening on 4 October is open to parents and future students from 6pm to 8.30pm and all the staff will be there to show how The Dorcan Academy delivers exceptional opportunities to students by providing a broad choice of curriculum and learning both during lessons and in a wide range of activities provided outside of school hours. Students are also taught 'Skills for life' where they are encouraged to grow both academically and in character so that they are prepared for the challenges life brings.

"This is a truly inclusive academy, small and caring, where the staff focus is on rewarding hard work, commitment and perseverance, regardless of ability or background. The Dorcan Academy also offers excellent sporting facilities including all weather pitches, a netball dome and a swimming pool.

"Further improvements to facilities are already in place and more are planned for the near future. This really is an Academy of Opportunity at the heart of the community.

"Come and visit and see why so many parents and students are now choosing to join our journey to outstanding.  Daytime tours can also be booked by telephoning 01793 525231."
