Three people have been arrested following another major operation as part of Wiltshire Police's Operation Sceptre knife crime awareness campaign and amnesty.

A warrant was carried out on a property in Milverton Court where a large amount of cash, class A and B drugs, knives and an axe were found.

Two local males aged 17 and 20 and a 15-year-old local girl were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.  They have all been released under investigation. Also, on the same day two further warrants were carried out: One at a property on Queens Drive - no items were seized but a 28-year-old woman was arrested for a prison recall in relation to theft.

The other, at an address on Norwood Close, Liden - a small quantity of cannabis was seized and a 49-year-old woman at the address dealt with via a street caution.  Also, a small quantity of class A, believed to be crack cocaine, was seized and a 21-year-old man will be dealt with by being invited in for interview. Two baseball bats found behind the front door were also seized.

Sgt David Tippetts said:  "Yet again these warrants prove that the link between violent crime, the use of weapons and illegal drugs supply are very much linked. By getting knives and other weapons off our streets under such campaigns like Op Sceptre then that's one part of the criminal cycle broken.
"It's also the same when we seize drugs and drug paraphernalia - it disrupts criminals and their crimes.
"An operation like this also sends the message that we are listening to local people and we will act on any information you give us. Please contact us if you suspect anyone dealing in drugs or carrying out any sort of criminality in your area."

If you suspect drug activity in your area, please provide police with as much information as possible. This information will be treated in the strictest confidence and will help us disrupt crime that impacts negatively on your community.
