Run and walk around Lydiard Park organised by Swindon based volunteers ensures all money raised goes to Breast Cancer Now
The cute, cheeky logo to promote Swindon's famous 10 and 5 kilometre run and power walk in aid of Breast Cancer Now was exclusively unveiled in the November 2007 Link magazine.
Link publisher Roger Ogle had approached design team Jainie Grey and her dad Mike of Juggle Design if they could come up with a logo without charge. They willingly agreed and Mike said at the time: "I wanted to create a fun, friendly character that people would welcome."
The Mad March Hare since March 2008 have raised more than £100,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, now known at Breast Cancer Now. The event is run entirely by volunteers and the support of sponsors ensure operational costs are covered so that one hundred per cent of entry fees is sent to the charity.
