Swindon Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a woman they want to speak to in connection with an assault on a taxi driver.

At approximately 12.30am on 1 December, a woman was being given a lift home by a 48-year-old male taxi driver when she asked him to pull over near to DFS because the fare was escalating.

The woman paid the fare and then punched the man in the face and head several times as she got out of the car. He was not seriously injured but did suffer pain and swelling to his face.

The taxi was being driven from Old Town towards Mannington roundabout.

It is believed the woman may live in the West Swindon area.

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54180113862.
