Swindon police are appealing for information following an incident in Swindon yesterday.

Between 4pm and 5pm on Thursday 10 January, a 68-year-old man was chatting to a neighbour in his front garden in The Broadway, when he sustained a wound to his arm, caused by an arrow.

He went to the Great Western Hospital for treatment to the wound.

Det Con Nigel Bullimore said: "It is believed that this arrow may have been fired from the Thames Avenue area into The Broadway and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident, noticed anything unusual in the area around this time, or anyone who was travelling down Thames Avenue around this time and has dash-cam footage which could help our investigation.

"Please call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190003148 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
