A new pub could soon occupy half of the building which is currently home to Old Town’s Post Office on Victoria Road.

A planning application has been submitted by Mr A Mastrodomenico to change the use of half of the Post Office building into a 'drinking establishment' changing the currently approved use as a shop.

In February last year, plans to split the Post Office building to create a new shop unit were approved by South Swindon Parish Councillors and subsequently given the green light by Swindon Borough Council’s planners.

According to the application, the facade of the imposing brick building - which sits within the Old Town conservation area - would be retained.

Plans for the new bar, next to Jacks Bar and Grill, include a stock room, toilets and a bar area.
