Fresh flowers and new life awaits visitors at Studley Grange Butterfly World, Farm Park & Craft Village this Spring.
Preparing for lambing season, Studley Grange is set for a spritely Spring with new arrivals due in February half term, as well as tropical temperatures in the butterfly greenhouses.
A spokesperson for Studley Grange said: "It is certainly a busy time for many farmers as lambing approaches, and here at Studley Grange Butterfly World Farm Park & Craft Village we are looking forward to a successful lambing, with lambs due to be born during February half term.
"After the exceptional dry summer, we, like many farmers, found last summer quite challenging. Although we all enjoy lazy sunny days relaxing in the sunshine, the prolonged period of very hot weather experienced last summer was not enjoyed by our livestock, who generally speaking are not fans of the heat.
"The butterflies at Studley Grange Butterfly World, however are lucky enough to live all year round in a heated tropical greenhouse, providing them with the perfect conditions to live and breed throughout the year, ensuring a colourful display of butterflies all year round.
"There is also a great display of Atlas moths, which can be seen close up in all four stages of the lifecycle, egg, caterpillar, cocoon, moth. They are fascinating to watch as the caterpillars grow at such a rate, visitor marvel at how big they become before wrapping themselves in silk to produce their cocoons. Once the moths emerge from the cocoon they really are one of nature’s most beautiful sights with their large colourful wing spin."
