A Swindon-based yoga instructor is broadening their horizons by introducing a brand-new class - the first of which is free.
Earth Sanctuary Yoga, based in West Swindon, is launching a brand-new Yin yoga class.
Karen West has been teaching yoga since 2006 and offers a range of classes and workshops from her studio in West Swindon. Karen is introducing a new class in the style of Yin which focuses on holding postures with the assistance of props. The first class will be free for all attendees, which will be held at Millennium Hall in Purton Sunday 10 March.
Karen said: "There is a move towards Yin yoga as a means to stretching the body that normal yang style vinyasa classes do not. In a Yin class we focus on holding postures for minutes at a time with the use of props.
"Most poses are mat based, as in done seated or in the supine position and work directly on stretching out the soft connective tissue that surrounds and fills the inner body.
"For now, we will be running a class once a month to gauge interest."
