Suspect tried to swallow suspected class A drugs after police arrest four in the early hours

Four men were arrested on suspicion of drug offences in Swindon during the early hours of this morning.

Shortly after midnight, a vehicle linked to class A drug dealing was spotted in Lady Lane, Blunsdon.

Officers from the local Community Policing Team attended the area and located the vehicle leaving Tadpole Village into Oakhurst Way. 

Officers managed to stop the vehicle which was found to have four people inside. One of the occupants was seen to attempt to swallow a package but officers quickly intervened and recovered the package – suspected class A drugs – from his mouth. 

A further quantity of class A drugs were located on his lap. 

A 49-year-old Swindon man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Three other men, aged 17, 38, and 40, were all arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. 

All four remain in custody at Gablecross today for questioning.
