Swindon Reds Volleyball club are celebrating a successful season, with the Ladies team led to victory by Captain Joanna Moroz.
The team snatched the Ladies & Junior Wiltshire league title and were crowned champions in April 2019. Coach Maciek Kwiecien, said: “I am very proud of their achievement and am looking forward to coach them next year to defend the title.”
The team made of Karolina Krizan - Setter; Joanna Moroz - Libero; Karolina Krystofiak, Sylvie Darrieumerlou, Gergana Marinova and Magda Tylutka- outside hitters; Nicoleta Bratescu, Sylwia Wiszniewska & Ola Moroz - middle hitters remained in pole position throughout the season. It was a close 1st place fight with Salisbury team.
After battling the title against Pewsey, Swindon Reds A came very close to win the league. They managed to secure a superb 2nd Place in the Division 1 league. They played their last match of the season at home vs Calne with a very convincing 2:1 victory. Swindon Reds A team recently recruited new players and is very much looking forward to next year’s season.
The league season was wrapped up by Swindon Reds B, winning the title of Wiltshire league champions Division 2. The team led by Captain Magda Tylutka was unbeatable this season with no sets lost all season.
Volleyball is a ball-based team sport, where two teams of six players compete to win the match. Points are scored by hitting the ball over the net and grounding the ball on your opposition’s side. It is a great sport that foster team spirit, improves hand-eye coordination, and strengthens and develops fast reflexes.
Swindon Reds Volleyball Club is Swindon’s volleyball club established since 2016. They currently train at Abbey Park secondary school, North Swindon and have ladies, mens & mixed teams. Plans are also in place to develop a junior team.
