Police release CCTV image of suspect in attempted newsagents robbery

Swindon police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery.

The incident took place at approximately 10.10pm on Friday 3 May at Mac News on Drove Road. 

A man entered the store and made demands for the shopkeeper to open his till. 

He then fled the store empty handed and was seen running into an alleyway to the right of the store which leads to Westmoreland Road. 

The suspect is described as tall with a medium build and wearing a black hooded top with white writing and a white hood, blue jeans and white trainers with black Nike gloves. 

We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or might recognise the suspect by the clothing he was wearing.
