Haydon Wick Parish Council has celebrated the refurbishment of the Multi Use Games Area at Heaton Close. Though the weather threatened showers at the opening, on Friday May 3rd, the rain held off until after the event, enabling children and adults to enjoy the upgraded facility with the help of Swindon Town Football Club’s “Football in the Community” team.

The refurbishment of the MUGA is just the latest in a series of projects where Haydon Wick Parish Council has invested in the facilities in the Parish, for the benefit of the residents.

The old MUGA was of metal and wooden construction without the benefit of an access path.  The wooden panelling had seen better days and was rotting where it stood.

Its replacement is all metal; hopefully ensuring a longer life span; and has a new access path.

The Parish Council is now proceeding with its next project, the refurbishment and upgrading of the Skatepark on Westfield Way.
