Residential landlords in Swindon are being given access to free advice from industry experts at an event next month.
The Landlords Evening has been organised by estate and lettings agency Moovahome in conjunction with Optimum Professional Services, Gary Price Mortgages, and Swindon Council and is being held on July 15, from 6.45pm to 8.15pm, at the Swindon Marriott Hotel.
The aim is to answer landlords’ questions about housing legislation, tax implications, the state of the current rental market, and Swindon Council’s plans for housing in the coming years.
Iain Mason, head of legal services at Optimum Professional Services, will explore Capital Gains Tax, Stamp Duty Changes and Energy Performance Certificate changes that are planned for the marketplace.
Gary Price, of Gary Price Mortgages, will discuss latest products, what lenders are looking for and give feedback on the current rates that are available for Buy To Let.
Richard Mathews, CEO of Optimum Professional Services, will explore the financial considerations landlords need to be making ahead of new taxation changes that are about to be introduced. He will also discuss other key areas of planning that will help landlords to be tax efficient, such as incorporating wills into their plans.
Nick Kemmett of Swindon Council will be explaining the exciting plans that Swindon Council have for the area, as well as discussing the changes to possessions from the council’s perspective and Ali Newnham and Ashley Cain of Moovahome will examine the current market place including House in Multiple Occupation standards, with a view to getting properties ready for the market and achieving the highest rental possible.
The event takes place at Swindon Marriott Hotel, Pipers Way, Swindon SN3 1SH on Tuesday, July 16 from 6.45pm until 8.15pm.
