A couple are offering a £1,000 reward for the return of their missing dog, Gus.

Gus, a one-and-a-half-year-old fawn bulldog, was last seen in Telford Pool Lane, Cheney Manor Road, on 10 July. He is said to have gone missing between 12.58pm and 1.15pm

The couple say Gus was in the care of a dog walker at the time.

One of Gus' owners, James Cunningham, 28, said: "The carer said she went inside to get him some water and the next minute he was gone.

"There’s been no CCTV footage so far in the area of Gus wandering alone."

Gus is described as white/fawn in colour, and can also be identified by a a white patch from the lower back of his head to his neck as well as a few shaved spots around his front leg and stomach due to surgery some time ago.

Mr Cunnigham added: "He’s beautifully natured - he loves everyone and every animal. Not an aggressive bone in him."

Now in day two of the search the couple from  Rodbourne are growing increasingly concerned for Gus, who has a medical condition, and desperately want him back. The couple are urging anyone who might have seen Gus to contact them, and are offering a £1,000 reward for his return.

Yesterday in a post on Facebook James' partner Jessica Moran, 27, said: "This will be his first night alone ever it’s just so cruel. He is the loveliest warmest loving little thing you could ever meet and we won’t give up.

"If someone has got Gus we want him back, so the more people looking for him the better the chance we will find him."

UPDATE: Police are now looking into the disappearance of Gus as a potential theft. A spokesperson for Swindon North Police said:  "We are investigating the suspected theft of a bulldog in Swindon and would urge anyone with information to get in touch.

"It is believed he was stolen from an address in Telford Pool Lane, Cheney Manor, on Wednesday 10 July."

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Gus is asked to call his owners on 07528027373 or 07545569560.

Alternatively contact the police on 101 and quote crime reference number 541290067366.
