A hard fought battle at the County Ground saw Swindon end their run of 3 defeats in a row with a draw against Plymouth.

The first half set the pattern for the rest of the game as tackles flew in and both midfields dominated the game. The first half saw very little action in both penalty areas with both defences being on top of the attack.
Plymouth, feeling boosted by their traveling support of 2,300, arguably had the best chances of the opening 45 minutes. Firstly Zak Rudden burst through the Swindon defence with ease but when he came up against Swindon's Steven Benda, making his league debut, his heavy touch saw the ball go out for a goal kick.

But Argyle's best chance came after some good Plymouth build up play saw Zak Rudden free on the edge of the penalty area. However Town keeper Steven Benda was able to make a key save.
Swindon's chances were mainly half chances and were both Eoin Doyle headers. The first saw some good work from Lloyd Isgrove after he weaved in and out of the Plymouth full back to dink a ball to the back post where a towering Doyle was unable to make a clean connection. The second saw another Isgrove cross however this time Doyle couldn't direct it goal bound.
Swindon however did go into the break one up after a typically good counter attacking move. Keshi Anderson on half way found Jerry Yates who turned and released it to Jordan Lyden, Lyden then slotted through to Eoin Doyle who superbly chipped the ball over the keeper into the empty net.
The second half was all Plymouth. Swindon looked fatigued and as a result Plymouth dominated the ball. Plymouth put many crosses into the box but Gabriel Zakuani and the returning Mathieu Baudry dealed with the pressure very well. However after 10 minutes of continuous Plymouth pressure they drew level. A good one two saw Joel Grant find a way through the Swindon backline, he then made no mistake and curled the ball one on one past Steven Benda in the town goal.
Swindon nearly quickly responded as Kaiyne Woolery won the ball from the Plymouth back like but his shot was tame and lacked direction as it fell past the far past. Plymouth nearly took all 3 points back to Devon as a volley from the edge of the penalty area saw Steven Benda superbly parry away to save a certain goal.
1-1 was how it finished and it was a well thought point for Swindon. However the injury list keeps increasing as Keshi Anderson pulled up through a hamstring injury. Swindon now play away to top of the league Crewe Alexandra on Saturday. Which should be another tough test for Richie Wellens and his men.
