Police are appealing for witnesses after a van driver was seriously injured in a collision on the A419 near Swindon yesterday.

Police were called shortly before 2.50pm yesterday (14/10/19) to a single-vehicle collision on the southbound carriageway just before the Honda South turning.

A white Volkswagen van had lost control, left the carriageway and mounted the bank, causing it to overturn. The van then came to rest back in the carriageway.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with life-threatening injuries.

The passenger in the van, a man in his 50s, suffered minor injuries.

The southbound carriageway was closed for approximately six hours to allow investigation work to take place.

We are appealing for any witnesses, including anyone who has dash cam footage, to contact Wiltshire Police's Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting log 179 of yesterday.
