The Swindon Social Enterprise Network hopes to inspire and support people looking for work through its sixth networking event.

The Swindon Social Enterprise Network will be hosting its next networking event on Wednesday 4 December.

Launched in 2018 the voluntary group will be hosting its sixth event at The Platform Projects’ new offices: Block D, The Dorcan Complex, Faraday Road, SN3 5HQ.

The event will be led by guest speakers Craig Duff, - from Nanogreen Cleaning - and Steve Carr - from The Richmond Fellowship. Mr Duff will be premiering a film, made in collaboration with Create studios, which showcases their intention to offer employment opportunities to those furthest from the workplace who are struggling to find a way into work.

At just age 16 Craig decided to leave a challenging childhood growing up in Glasgow and ended up in Devizes. Craig says he counts himself very fortunate to have been taken under the wing of a local businessman who gave him an opportunity to learn a trade and get himself grounded.

Having now built up an ecologically friendly cleaning business, Craig wants to be able to help others in need. He is already doing this, working with the two homeless charities: Threshold and the Salvation Army (Booth House) in the town. He offers work experience with the possibility of employment to those who, due to their own special circumstances, find it very challenging to get a first job interview.

Mr Duff's talk will be followed by a presentation from Steve Carr from the Richmond Fellowship. He will be presenting his seminar 'Supporting people back into competitive employment'.

Mr Carr will be giving an overview of how Richmond Fellowship are supporting more and more local employers with the right staff for their businesses through the new and unique free to use 'IPS (Individual Placement Support service).

The event is free to attend but booking is required. For further information visit www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/swindon-social-enterprise-network-sixth-networking-event-tickets-79332829629
