The event is being officially opened by Richard Bacon MP on Friday 31st January.  Richard introduced the bill that led to the ‘Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015’ and has been a champion of self build ever since.  He will be giving an update to eager home builders on the ‘Right to Build’ which ensure local authorities measure and meet local demand for individual housing plots.

The show offers three days of live demonstrations, seminars and an unrivalled line up of experts on hand to share their homebuilding advice. It’s the perfect event if you are thinking about extending your home, renovating a tired property or buying a plot of land and building a brand new home.

Harvey Fremlin, NSBRC Managing Director, says: “We are very pleased to welcome Richard Bacon MP to the NSBRC.  This follows on from a visit by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in November and shows that the government is serious about making self build for accessible.  It is important as, put simply, it encourages better housing.  Self build homes are well designed and energy efficient”.

The NSBRC currently has a 30 second advert running on Channel 4’s digital TV catch up service, so viewers of their ‘Homes on 4’ programmes such as Grand Designs and George Clarkes Amazing Spaces will see what the unique visitor centre can offer budding home builders.

Show highlights include:

  • A busy programme of seminars, live demonstrations and case studies
  • Guided tours of the NSBRC’s life-size educational exhibits
  • Over 250 Exhibitors
  • Self Build course taster sessions
  • Free 1:1 Expert Advice

The National Self Build & Renovation Show is easy to get to with the NSBRC located on Junction 16 of the M4 and parking is plentiful and FREE!  Tickets are just £12 per person on the door, but you can claim FREE advance tickets available at: www.nsbrc.co.uk

The Show runs from Friday 31st January to Sunday 2nd February.
