Wiltshire Air Ambulance is offering people the chance to abseil down a historic landmark – St Mary’s Church in Devizes – to fundraise for the charity.

As part of its 30 th birthday year, the charity is looking for 30 people to take part in the abseil down the
Grade I listed church in New Park Street on Saturday 25 April 2020.

Kenresa Stratford, events co-ordinator at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “St Mary’s Church in Devizes is a
stunning venue and we hope that everyone who participates in our abseil will enjoy this beautiful church.

“St Mary’s Church is in the heart of Devizes and by taking part you will experience a unique view of the
town and the surrounding countryside.

“We’re delighted to be holding our abseil in Devizes in our 30 th birthday year. Our operational base was in
Devizes until we moved to our purpose-built airbase in Semington, near Melksham, in May 2018.

“We hope people will ‘take a leap’ by taking part in our abseil and the funds they raise will help us to
continue saving lives. An abseil we held last year raised over £9,000.”

Entry for the abseil is £25 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
